About

Opening reception: Wed, August 26, 5 - 7pm Exhibition on view: Aug 27 - Sep 15, 2026 Gallery hours: Mon - Thurs, 9am - 6pm; Fri, 9am - 5pm Helen Lindhurst Fine Arts Gallery, 850 Bloom Walk, Los Angeles, CA 90089 This show is a collection of work that reflects on my identity as a Korean American by examining specific cultural and historical events that have affected my family and the Korean American community as a whole. The oppression and discrimination that Korean Americans (as well as other Asian Americans) face here in the US is often overlooked or thought of as lesser than that of other communities. The limited color palette is used to grab people's attention and force them to acknowledge and confront these examples of racism and oppression that might have been swept under the rug in the past.
